It would be a lie if we said that pandemic didn’t change our travel plans. But we would rather stay optimistic and positive by reviewing what changes we might expect for the next year in the travel industry (if traveling remains safe at the time, of course).
Domestic travel
As traveling internationally is still very challenging at the moment, the same thing awaits in 2021. People will feel more confident in domestic travel opportunities than traveling abroad. Road trips are seen as one of the main choices for domestic travel in 2021, so you can definitely start planning and marking the places on your local-area map!
Budget travel
There is no secret that pandemic has affected the budget for almost every traveler, so there is a great possibility that the majority of travelers will be searching for less pricy travel opportunities. There is a high chance that spending the nights in a glamorous and luxurious hotel won’t sound like a great idea anymore. Hostels, camping will become a stop by for a rest.
Solo travel
We have practiced social distancing for a while now, and it might be one of the reasons why people might become more comfortable traveling on their own in 2021. But not only that. Long days staying at home with family members or friends during the pandemic may also be a bit overwhelming as people might not get as much alone time as needed. So, traveling solo is seen as an icebreaker to get out of the comfort zone to get that “me time” with long waited adventures.
Slow travel
Quality over quantity is the new travel concept for 2021. Travelers will most likely spend more time in a single destination than seeing as many places of attraction as possible within a single day. So, no more rushing, enjoying your quality time in your country of the visit!
It’s hard to speculate what awaits in the upcoming year in the midst of pandemic as it has the biggest impact on travel tendencies. But we can be sure about one thing – the safest way of traveling at the moment is staying at home and planning future trips. Once the pandemic is over we will more appreciate our privilege to see new horizons in the other part of the world.
