The first travel without my family members that became the main cause of my passion for travelling – Italy. I was convinced that traveling abroad is super expensive, therefore, even the thoughts about going somewhere outside my home country were frightening. However, when I’ve got an opportunity to go to the capital of ancient culture I was extremely hesitant. About the flights, about the food, about the people, practically about everything. But the company of my childhood friend was enough to calm my too cautious mind. Crazy to think that my first travel with my friends was when I was 20 years old. But everyone has their own time.
First impression
When I first thought that came to mind when I heard a word “Italy” was “overrated”. I heard various stories about beautiful landscapes and spectacular architecture, but I haven’t experienced it by my own.
But when I had my first steps on this land, my mind changed drastically. While going on the train to a small town called Passignano sul Trasimeno, I couldn’t take my eyes from hilly landscapes, towns with old churches peaking on those hills, while my travel buddies were napping. I tried to take in all the little details from the hills (that I can’t stop mentioning), green areas. Every little Italian thing I saw outside the window was new, and I wanted to keep them in my memory as long as possible. As soon as we reached the place of Erasmus plus, the villa, which had lots of animals from horses to goats. The villa reminded me of those ranches in Mexican soap dramas, exotic, luxury, and memorable. Perhaps the best thing about being in that villa was the view from uphill: a little island, surrounded by a gorgeous lake, and town located around that beautiful lake of Passignano.
